Rabbit Hole of the Day (“RHOTD”, “we”, “us”) is an entertainment and educational exploration app that delivers a daily topic with links to external resources. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Notifications and device information
If you enable notifications, we collect and store a push notification token (for example an Expo push token) so we can send you the daily drop. We may also store a device identifier generated by the app, your time zone, your preferred notification time, and basic app activity timestamps such as when the app last connected. This information is used only to deliver notifications and app functionality.
Suggestions you submit
If you submit a topic suggestion, we collect the information you provide, such as the topic title, a short explanation, optional links, and an optional category. We may also store a timestamp and basic technical metadata needed to prevent abuse.
Subscription status
If you purchase a subscription, we receive subscription status information (for example whether premium access is active). We do not receive your full payment card details. Payments are processed by Apple, Google, and our subscription provider.
Information we do not collect
We do not require user accounts.
We do not collect your name, address, or phone number unless you voluntarily contact us for support.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.
We do not sell your personal information.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
Deliver push notifications at the time you select
Provide access to premium features when a subscription is active
Operate the suggestion feature and review submissions
Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
Improve app performance and reliability
Third party services
We use third party services to operate the app. These providers process limited data on our behalf, only as needed to provide their services.
Apple and Google
Used for app distribution and in app subscriptions. Their privacy practices are governed by their policies.
RevenueCat
Used to manage subscriptions and verify premium entitlements.
Supabase
Used as a backend database to store posts, suggestions, and device notification settings.
Expo
Used for push notification delivery.
We may also link to third party websites within each daily post. We do not control the privacy practices of those external sites.
Data retention
We retain device notification settings as long as needed to deliver notifications, or until you disable notifications or uninstall the app, subject to reasonable technical limitations. We retain suggestions for moderation, review, and product improvement. We retain subscription status records as required to provide premium access and to comply with accounting or legal obligations.
Your choices
Notifications
You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings. You can also adjust your preferred notification time within the app if that option is provided.
Subscriptions
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
Support requests
If you contact support, you can request that we delete your support messages, subject to legal or operational requirements.
Children’s privacy
RHOTD is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information we store, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on this page.
